Accessorising Your Bridal Look

Inspired by our recent styling event alongside Eden B Studio, and Hero Hair Stylist, our latest blog aims to give you lots of ideas and excite you about the many ways you can accessorise your bridal look to perfection.

As mentioned in our previous blog post, many modern brides are deciding on simple and chic wedding dresses, letting their accessories and bridal beauty do the talking! Additions of texture, lace and embellishment on veils is the perfect way to add another dimension and detail to your outfit, and ensures that your 'look' is unique, and expresses your personality. Whether you opt for a long and dramatic veil that sweeps the floor and falls beyond the length of your train, a double layered and glamorous style that adds volume and impact, or a subtle and beautifully low-key design, this delicate length of tulle will 'make it all come together' and ensure all eyes are on you.

Whilst choosing your veil, it is important to consider where it will sit on your head. Will you have it up high, so the fabric frames your face and your guests can see it from every angle? Or perched elegantly on top of your bridal up-do? Perhaps you will have it placed carefully underneath your bun, so you emphasise your accompanying hair accessories. The options are endless, but one thing is for certain... you will never want to take it off!

With a large selection of veils from Eden B Studio, Aleksa Karina, Miss Kay Seamstress and Bianco Evento, our veil rail stands proudly in our dressing room, popping with colour, texture, sparkle and lace.

We speak a lot about veils, but hair accessories are key to add the finishing touches to your overall outfit. With endless options available to purchase within bridal stores and online, it can often be overwhelming when making your decision. Initially, think about how you'd usually wear your hair and why this is; do you always wear your hair down as it makes you feel confident and feminine? Do you enjoy putting your hair up because you like to have it off your face and enjoy showing off the elegance of your collarbone, neck and shoulders? Once you have deciphered which style is going to ensure that you radiate confidence and reflect your personal style, you can begin planning your accessories.

Hair vines are simple to put in, pliable, and are the kind of accessory that can be on show at the side and back of the head at the same time if desired. They create a soft and grecian look, and vary in length and thickness. As well as curving around the side of the head as often worn by brides, they can also bend into a tiara/ headband shape, or be entwined within a plait for the perfect bohemian look.

If vines aren't for you, simple slides or grips placed within your hair could be an ideal alternative. If using a single slide, these are best positioned at one side of your head, softly taking the hair away from the side of your face, or at the very back of your head instead, framing your veil.

Scattered grips in beautiful designs nestled amongst your up-do, create a whimsical appearance and are effective from every angle. An example of these accessories are our handmade porcelain floral grips by Eden B Studio,

With just a touch of sparkle, colour or metallic shine, this kind of hairpiece compliments most bridal outfits and look truly feminine and romantic.

If you don't want to wear accessories within your hair, how about asking your florist to prepare some fresh flowers for you and your bridal party? Adding flowers such as roses, mixed with green foliage can be the perfect accompaniment for a more relaxed bridal look, and are ideal for someone who wants to reflect their surroundings if they are marrying in a beautiful countryside barn or having an outdoor ceremony.

So you'd rather keep things simple with your hair? Sometimes, no fuss is best! Have you considered tying your hair in a chic low ponytail, or creating beachy, tumbling waves for a sexy and carefree style? With this kind of look, statement earrings can be the perfect accessory. For 2019/20 freshwater pearls will be trending everywhere, but more than just a fad, they will remain timeless. So whether you're imagining pearl drop earrings, sleek gold hoops or boho styled tassels, you'll be nailing the modern bride look on your big day!
